a*) Olga Mandodari, PhD: “The Architecture of Happiness: Discover the Art and Science of Feeling Good at Home!” (Workshop: 4 hrs)
Have you ever wondered why you feel so radiant inside your favourite indoor space? That wonderful feeling is Vastu Shastra at work. Vastu is an ancient architectural method from India that’s entering mainstream practice all over the world. It’s the key to the healthy home. As you’ve probably guessed, a happy home takes more than great aesthetics. The secret is three-pronged and lies in the location, architectural design and interior design of your home. The good news is that homeowners, architects, builders and designers can all play an active role in awakening that good feeling in any home. Make yours a Happy Space and a Happy Place with Olga Mandodari.
b*) Emily Markides, PhD: “Environmentally-Based Monasteries in the Greek World: My Personal Experience in Patmos” (Workshop: 4 hrs)
Sociologist Emily Markides shares her own personal experience at a Women’s Convent in Patmos, the very site where the Green Patriarch Bartholomew travelled on his very first voyage to examine the “state of waters” (referring to the premonition in the Apocalypse that, when the earth and its waters are polluted, it will spell the end of the world as we know it). The video “The Aegean: Apocalypse, Revelation, Environment” will be presented, an extract of which reads, “We shall be voyaging to Patmos on the sea of possibility from which life emerged.”
— His All Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew
